Celebrate National Blueberry Month and enjoy the health benefits

Blueberries are considered to be the healthiest of any other fruit. Their pretty blue hue comes from a high anthocyanin content. Packed with powerful antioxidants, lots of vitamin C and fiber, these little berries are also low in calories.

Blueberries can improve heart health, aid in digestion, are anti-inflammatory, and they taste great. As North America is the leading producer, you can find blueberries at farmer’s markets, u-pick farms, and grocery stores.

This is a great time to try a new recipe, or just pop a few in your pancake batter, muffin mix, cereal, or smoothie. Check out this story in our sister publication SOFIA to find more information about this sweet berry and get two great recipes.
